Select Your Color

There are many color options to choose from to match your personal preferences and the theme of you home. You can select one color or elect to use a variety of colors to create a unique effect.

Each acid-stained floor is unique in its own right. This is due to the fact that acid stain reacts with each concrete surface differently. The age and texture can also play a factor in the outcome. Environmental factors even play a part in determining what the final stain will look like. Acid stain penetrates the concrete and reacts with the hydrated lime creating a character and deep, rich translucent colors.

The concrete is then sealed with an acrylic sealer to protect your new floor so you can enjoy it for years to come. We have various gloss levels available to accommodate the level of sheen you prefer.

CONCRETE STAINing Options

There are 2 primary types of concrete stains: Acid Stains & Dye Stains.

  • Acid concrete stains are a mixture of water, hydrochloric acid and acid-soluble metallic salts. They work by penetrating the surface and reacting chemically with the lime in the concrete. The acid in the stain lightly etches the surface, allowing the metallic salts to penetrate more easily. With acid stain you are limited to earth tone colors that are soft like terra cotta, blue-greens, tans and browns.

  • Dye concrete stains are non-reactive stains which are water-based and contain acrylic solutions. These types of stains are topical and do not chemically react with the concrete. Dye concrete stains provide more color options which can also be blended and mixed to create more color options than acid stains can. If you are looking for bright colors, dye concrete stains may be the right choice for you.

If you want solid bright vibrant color choices go with a dye stain but if you want a more dramatic effect with color variations go with acid stains.

Staining concrete and colored concrete floors in general are excellent options to improve the appearance of concrete in any home or business.
